Connecting to the Collection: Climate and the Environment

The Samek Art Museum collection can be used to investigate a wide variety of themes. These works were selected from the Samek Art Museum’s permanent collection for their resonance with discussions related to climate change and environmentalism. Sophie McQuaide ‘23, the Samek Art Museum’s Collection and Exhibition Assistant and a Studio Art and Art History double major, has a deep interest in earth art and environmental justice. After thorough research, she wrote each label to help visitors understand how each work of art connects to environmental themes.
